Marketers of acai products fined $1.5 million for false claims and unfair billing

Internet marketers of acai berry weight-loss pills and colon cleansers will pay $1.5 million to settle charges of deceptive advertising and unfair billing, the Federal Trade Commission announced today.

“Obesity is a real public health problem that is rarely – if at all – taken into account by politicians,” Dukan told newspaper Le Parisien ahead of the book’s launch.
